RODEO COWBOY

He wanted to be an ol’ rodeo cowboy
Cause that’s what was down in his heart
To ride with them doogies, the bronc’s and the bulls
For that was his dream from the start

So he donned a cowboy hat and some jeans
And a vest that was padded so well
He said, “Ridin’ so well as a rodeo cowboy”
Was the destiny he’d live to tell

So he hit the road and the crowds came to see him
They cheered him when he took the stage
Cause ridin’ so well as a rodeo cowboy
Is when he became all the rage

Night after night he’d travel the road
Fulfilling the dreams that he made
Becoming a champion rodeo cowboy
Was the price he was willing to pay

Now the years rolled on by, the day it had come
To say “Fare-thee-well” to his dream
Old father time took the rodeo cowboy
To roads that he had not yet seen

Now he makes his dreams on a much different stage
Singing to crowds far and wide
‘Bout days long ago as a rodeo cowboy
His memories strapped to his side
