Little York Tavern
July 13, 2005

One rainy Monday mornin’ much to my surprise
Drivin’ down Dixie Drive the rubble stood so high
Big Cat dozin’ down the site memories lie in waste
I won’t forget it none to soon the tavern we embraced

It took the name of Little York Tavern yes it did
Corner bar in Murlin Town played their as young kids
Sold a real good pizza buy one Friday nights
But now they’ve torn the building down and turned out all the lights

Remembering the Rendezvous one day long ago
It’s where we met our good friends where we played our shows
Everybody came out performed on Monday nights
Music soft as Cotton we made ‘em feel all right

They changed the name to Little York Tavern yes they did
Corner bar in Murlin Town played their as young kids
Gypsy girl a watchin’ from the front row every night
But now they’ve torn the building down and turned out all the lights

Sadness fills my thoughts
Of those good times long ago
Drink a toast to memories
Of when we played our shows

The evening air filled with smoke shined out through the lights
Dylan songs a playin’ those lazy rainy nights
Crosby, Stills, and Nash three part harmonies
Do a little Buffet that echoed in the breeze

They changed the name to Little York Tavern yes they did
Corner bar in Murlin Town played their as young kids
Dreams of fame and fortune shined like stars at night
But now they’ve torn the building down and turned out all the lights
Now they’ve torn the building down and turned out all the lights
