AESOP'S FABLE

People tell me I'm so nasty
I'm no ones fool I'm no one's patsy
I need my fix I'm getting antsy
Just one more rush nothing fancy

Now my life has gone to pot
Tell someone I must be shot
In my arm there's something wrong
Will I feel it will it take long

Now I'm laying in the street
Just like a slab of rancid meat
The people say, "Isn't he sweet!"
As the cop looks down from his beat

I thought this life was full of glitter
But live there long and you'll know its bitter
I don't like it all that much
In the real world I'm out of touch

They put my body in a truck
Red light flashing, "Man, this sucks!"
The doctor said, "You stupid schmuck!"
I couldn't answer--just my luck

They took me to a big hospital
And they let me lay their on the table
I couldn't breath I wasn't able
This sounds just like an Aesop's fable

Now they put a needle in my arm
I think I'm dying I ain't warm
Someone help me I meant no harm
Will I be here tomorrow morn

Now my face has turned bright red
And all my veins they feel like lead
The doctor said, "Cover his head.
He's kicked his habit, now he's dead."
